GRASSROOT MOBILIZERS OF RIVERS STATE (GMR) AKA RIV-YESS INAUGURATES LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA COORDINATORS AND STATE COMMITTEES.
~ Declares total support for the Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara’s determination to place the state above politics and personal interests.
It was a gathering of young grassroots leaders from the 23 Local Government Areas of Rivers State as the Grassroot Mobilizers of Rivers State (GMR) also known as Riv-Yess inaugurated it’s local government coordinators and state committees that will take the passionate campaign against attempts to place the interest of the state below personal interests and ego.
Speaking during the inauguration, the state coordinator of the organisation, Hon. Princewill Ewule thanked members for putting themselves forward for the worthy. He described Gov. Similarly Funara as a man who has shown clear focus on youth development and economic prosperity of the State, going by his appointment of over 15 youths in his administration and his constant call for peace even when he’s the offended.
Hon. Princewill particularly thanked the governor for appointing Comrade Norisia Pepple as SA. on Youths and Sports, Engr. Fenibo Fubara Jnr. as SA. on ICT and Lydia Owutubo as SA. on Gender, expressing confidence in their abilities to deliver in their different responsibilities.
The 23 LGA. Coordinators, State Security Team, and Elders Council which is led.by Barr. Hope Nyeche and Anderson Hart as chairman and secretary respectively were inaugurated and tasked to constitute the executive bodies in their various LGAs and Wards with immediate effect.
In his vote of thanks, Comrade Norisia Pepple, SA. Youth and Sports to the governor encouraged members not to be worried by recent happenings in the state and assured them of the governor’s determination to priotise the progress and development of the state above all-season politics and personal interests.
According to the Comrade Norisia, the PDP chose Sir Siminalayi Fubara as candidate and Rivers people voted for him as Governor because of his technocratic background, and so, the governor is determined not to play with that sacred mandate.
“There must be a time for politics and a time for governance, the governor was not voted to play politics, he was voted to govern the state and use her resources prudently for the betterment of citizens; and governance he will discharge unstoppably. That is what I can assure all the youths and people of Rivers State”, Norisia said.
On her part, Lydia Owutubo, SA. on Gender to the governor encouraged women to come out and own the administration of Sir Siminalayi Fubara, stating that her position is the first of its kind in the history of the state, and a testimony of Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s gender friendliness consciousness.
The high-point of the inauguration was the group photograph and solidarity songs for the Rivers State Governor, and the Peace and Progress of the State.
