Our Attention Has Been Drawn To News Making Round In The Media that Emohua Local Government Chairman, High Chief Tom Aliezi Promised To Place Repentant Cultists From Ibaa Community on monthly payment.
We Wish To Categorically state that at no point did the Council Chairman Make Such Promise, as the council chairman cannot pay any One for leaving crime when the people are still suffering from the effect of their crime in the community.
Recall That the Council Chairman Over The Weekend Attended a Peace And Security Meeting in Ibaa Community, Where the Two Rival Cult Groups Terrorizing the Community for Years Signed A Peace Accord, After Agreeing To Lay Down Their Arms In The Interest Of Peace And Development of the Community.
Part Of The Agreement Was To Set Up A Committee That Will Monitor The Compliance of the Peace Accord That was Signed by the Leaders Of The Rival Cult Groups.
The Committee Has three Persons From Each Of The Rival Groups As Members, And Will Be Working With The Security Agencies To Contain Youth Restiveness In The Community.
It Was On The Strength of the Above That The Council Chairman Declared That the Council Will Make Financial Provision For Members Of The Committee To Function Effectively.
Therefore The Only Form Of Payment Announced By The Chairman Is For The Services Of The Members of the Implementation Committee , Since They Will be Working Directly With The Security Agencies, Especially In The Area Of Information Gathering , and not as Compensation for turning a new leaf.
Moreover the Implementation committee only consists of six Persons, Three from Each Of The Rival Cult Groups that Has Over Fifty Members Each.
Although The Council Chairman Had Promised To Work Out Modalities To Organise A Skill Acquisition Program For Those Who Sincerely Embrace Peace, To Make them Employable and Self Employed ,To be able to put Food on their table without having to engage in any form of crime and criminality.
He also Promised To Liaise With the Security Agencies To Come Up With Modalities To Mop Up Illegal Arms And Ammunitions in the Community, Even If It Requires Paying For The Arms that would be Recovered, to Forestall The resurgence of cult war in the Area.
The Unsuspecting Public Is Hereby Advised To Please Disregard the rumour Making Round of Any Plan By the Council Chairman to Payroll Repentant Cultists from Ibaa or Any Other Community In Emohua Local Government Area.
Hon Tom Have Never Promised and Will Not Promise To Pay Any Repentant Cultist For turning a New leaf.
The Rumour Remains The Imagination of Mischief Makers And Those Benefiting From The Cult War Ravaging The Area.

Consequently, The Council Chairman Has Called On Rival Cult Groups In Other Communities In The LGA To Emulate The Bold Step Taken By Their Friends In Ibaa Community or Be Ready To Face the Full Wrath of the Law, As There Will be no hiding place for criminals in the LGA.
