Anambra state 2020 budget.
Anambra State House of Assembly rushly passed 2020 questionable budget into law. The budget is so confusing without proficiency.
Although the budget was passed into law by the state lawmakers but many of the lawmakers are unsatisfied with the nature of the budget.
The House of Assembly today passed the 2020 Budget into law without thorough study of the nature of the budget, making it the very first state to have passed the 2020 budget into law. The Anambra state 2020 draft estimamte was presented to the Assembly by the governor of Anambra state, His Excellency Chief Willie Obiano, on the 26th day of September 2019, after which the House commenced its evaluation of the budget with the draft estimate as submitted, going through the first and second reading on the 10th of October 2019 before it was referred to the Finance and Appropriation committee for thorough evaluation by the different House Committees concerned.
For 2020 fiscal year, Anambra has a budget size of N137, 135, 743, 439. This figure is summation of proposed N58, 772, 739, 914, as recurrent expenditure and N78, 363, 003, 525, as capital expenditure.
Currently Anambra State is in in state of bad roads, because of contractos without capacity incharge of the project. Recently road in Obosi collapsed with vehicles on it….
The Anambra State government, both the executives and legislative arm should sit up and make Anambra State better.
