We Are No More Flaring – Total Energies Revealed As PH HCDT/Total Energies /NNPC Commisioned Mgbada Hall In Oroada, Rebisi, Port Harcourt
Dez Mayorz News.
The Executive Director of Total Energies Nigerian Limited, Mr. Obi Imemba, has revealed that Total Energies EP in Nigeria is no longer into oil/gas flaring.
Refers to Total Energies as the champion of clean energy and sustainable environment.
This he said through his representative Engr. Godspower Nwachukwu at the commissioning of the Mgbada Hall in Oroada Community, Rebisi, Port Harcourt built by the Port Harcourt Host Community Development Trust – PH HDCT on 3rd June 2025.
He said that TotalEnergies has placed sustainable development in all its dimensions at the heart of its strategy, projects, and operations to contribute to the well-being of the population.
He commanded the PH HCDT Board led by Eze (Sir) Sam Soni Ejekwu for its people-oriented leadership and proficiency.
Said he would continue to support the board.
Speaking at the program, PH-HCDT board chairman, Eze (Sir) Sam Soni Ejekwu thanked Total Energies for approving the projects.
Eze Ejekwu said the project was inherited by the current Port Harcourt Host Community Development Trust.
He noted that galloping inflation made it difficult for his board to complete the project due to the very cost of building materials.
“…From the report given to us and what we met on ground, it is stated that a bag of cement was 1,800 naira. But at completion now, a bag of cement is 10,000 naira plus (#10,570).
Because of the galloping inflation in this country, this project
was caught up with the economic situation and it became difficult for it to be completed during the MOU regime.
And in order not to have it as an abandoned project in Rebisi, the community and the contractor approached us.
So, I join our chief, community leaders, and women to thank Total Energies for the approval.”- Eze (Sir) Sam Soni Ejekwu.
The one-storey Mgbada Community hall building with offices and toilets was commissioned for the economic and social benefits of the community.
Earlier, Dez Mayorz News reported that ‘Two hundred and fifty million naira (N250,000,000)’ was given to 500 business owners from Rebisi Kingdom, Mgbuesilaru community, and the Rumuogba community by Port Harcourt Host Community Development Trust (PH HCDT), Total Energies and NNPC.
The Non-Interest loan is a revolving loan scheme that will be repaid and extended to other members of the community after a period of one year.
The PH HDCT/Total Energies/ NNPC also organized a top-notch 3-Days Workshop/Training organized by for the Community Traditional Rulers, Community Development Committees (CDC) Leaders, Women leaders, Youth leaders, and community stakeholders in February 2025; which had 200 attendance.
