Labour Party: Dienye Pepple Led Executives Remains In Rivers, As Court Gave Injunction
– Maintain status quo, court orders.
You will recall that the National Chairman of Labour Party earlier in February announced the sudden dissolution of the Rivers State LP Executives, which attracted critics from different quartets, stake holders of the party as well as Some OBI/DATTI support groups in the state, they described the process as unconstitutional and against the party ethics.
Also, the South South Vice Chairman of the LP Prince Reuben also kicked against the purported dissolution stating that the National Chairman Abure cannot single handedly take such decision
… _Labour party is not the personal property of Julius Abure therefore due process must be followed no matter the offence committed__ Prince Reuben.
In a related development, the State Labour Party Chairman and Executives had earlier Challenged their dissolution in Court and the Court having
Accessed its legitimacy grants as follows:
*_PHC/753/CS/2023: DIENYE PEPPLE & ANOR. V. LABOUR PARTY & 5 ORS. 4/4/2023 before Hon. Justice C. Adangor. The Claimants’ Motion Exparte for Interim injunction was moved. The Court in its Ruling ordered that the Respondents be put on Notice of the Motion for Interlocutory Injunction and further ordered the Parties to maintain status quo. The Case was further adjourned to 25/4/2023._*
This development automatically puts the Hilda Dokubo led Excos to disarray as they are not recognised by Law neither the constitution of the Labour Party.
