KObaba Jornsen Frowns At The Closure Of EUI Event Center By Rivers State Government

– Says Rivers State needs EUI Event Center now than ever and appeals that the decision be rescinded.

The organizer of the prestigious and DMOMA award winning Comedy show in Port Harcourt (Mayor of Pitikwa), KoBaba has frown at the purported closure of EUI Event Center in Port Harcourt.

Says sealing up EUI Event Centre without proper dialogue is objectionable.

The Rivers State Government ordered a temporary shutdown of the EUI Event Center for not controlling traffic from their venue that led to heavy traffic lockdown yesterday in GRA.

Below is the post made by KoBaba:

THIS CITY NEEDS EUI

Sealing up EUI Event Centre without proper dialogue is objectionable, especially because of it’s Socio-Economic value to the state and creative industry. 80% of the event centers in this city have parking issues, yet we endured the route and managed them efficiently, I have carried out my research, no event center in this city has a car parking space to match its capacity, our Churches, Bars and Clubhouses are also in this same box. I can go ahead and give instances with pictorial descriptions.

The event center in question, was definitely built with approval from the government, so lets imagine, who pays for the loss. No way, should these be allowed to stand please!

Besides being a private investment, the city also needs that center for value creation; it’s capacity, facilities and luxuries brings credits and bragging rights to the state. I have scrolled through Social Media and seen some persons already typing and shouting yes yes yes, I am sorry to say, but that attitude can only be likened to a Poor Man’s

Behavior, who due to his mentality……would rejoice when he hears that a big man died from in plane crash.

Regardless of the many detailed explanations, doing

this at this time and season will cause serious pains to people that have booked the hall for their events.

There is a current case of political tension and as such, people must begin pointing fingers. We have adjusted to managing traffic along certain roads that host big event centers….. So this new development and it’s reasons are unnecessary…

Please, I pray that everyone is authority opt for dialogue on a roundtable rather than make harsh decisions that would leave many unemployed, scare investors away and create unhealthy tension.

Please, EUI needs to stay alive and be encouraged. This city needs an event center of that caliber and we are lucky that someone has provided it…

We appeal that this decision be rescinded to accommodate the Creative Sector Of The Economy!
