Court orders Rivers State University to pay former VC, B.B. Fakae his seven years salaries

Posted on July 1, 2022July 1, 2022

The National Industrial Court in Port Harcourt has ordered Rivers State University to pay its former Vice Chancellor, Professor Barineme Fakae his seven years’ salaries withheld by the institution.

The court also ruled that his employment with the institution is still valid.

Professor Fakae had approached the court after he was denied his salary from 2015 following a claim by the institution’s governing council that his transfer of service was irregular.

Justice P. I. Hamman in his judgment said Prof Fakae should be given all his entitlements, remunerations, and/or other privileges accrued to him as an employee who was given a letter of Offer of Appointment dated May 16, 2014.
.
Prof. B.B. remains the best Vice chancellor Rivers State University has ever had.

He was appointed the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt. The need for him to stay put became evident in this university and he obediently responded.

He was appointed Vice-Chancellor of the premiere Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt in 2008.

Everything around Professor Barineme Beke Fakae is a success. His life is an enviable one. He can be described as the man with the “Midas touch”.
