PH Polo Club Sets For Golden Jubilee Tournament In Port Harcourt.

PH Polo Club is set for its 50th Anniversary tournament in Port Harcourt comes 9th to 15th January, 2022.
Ahead of the January 2022 Golden Jubilee celebration of Port Harcourt Polo Club, Rivers State, some founding fathers, Polo veterans and members of the club, embacked on an extraordinary practice chukkas.
The chukka, according to the President of the Club, Dr Chukwudi Dimkpa, is in preparation towards the club’s 50th anniversary 2022 tournament.
Engr Dimkpa, Managing Director of Strata Base Group, one of the sponsors’ of the tournament, assured that the planned 2021 50th anniversary is well packed, and is ultimately to showcase Rivers State and the Niger Delta region as a tourism destination of choice.
“Today is one of those preparations for the golden jubilee 50th anniversary tournament of the club”.
“We want to showcase equestrian sports, that’s polo, we want to showcase the culture of the state and the region and generally give the inhabitants of Rivers State something to look forward to in the new year 2022”. – Engr. Chukwudi Dimkpa.
The 2020 DMOMA Awards’s “Man of the year”, Engr. Dr Chukwudi Dimkpa who is also the Chairman, South South Zone and board member, Karate Federation of Nigeria, was very gladdened at the presence of His Excellency, king Alfred Diete-Spiff, Amanyanabo of Twon-Brass, and the array of Polo veterans who turned out for today’s practice chukka.
He emphasised on his promise that the scheduled tournament of the 50th Golden Jubilee of the Club will bring to Rivers and Niger Delta people something cheering to look forward to in 2022 when the anniversary kicks-off.
“We had practice chukkas, and we are fortunate to have the former Governor of Old Rivers State, His Royal Majesty, Alfred Diete-Spiff, a two-term president of the club, in fact one of the founders of this club, and we had him in our midst today and he showed his old skills of polo and mounted with us today”
“So come 9th to 15th of January, the Port Harcourt Polo Club is shutting down Rivers State”, Dr Chukwudi Dimkpa concluded.
