A lot has been said, written and, perhaps, recorded about Bro Felix Ameachi Obuah that he has become a household name across Rivers State and beyond.

There is hardly any part of the country, state, group, social circle, community or class that his name does not ring bell.

Obuah is a courageous and fearless statesman, a detribalised personality of irresistible admiration, a business mogul, economic master strategist, a social pivot, philanthropist par excellence and indefatigable oracle of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni politics and, above all, a traditionalist.

Obuah was born to the family of the late Elder Bethel Chukujindu Obuah of Akelechi Royal Dynasty of Umuohali in Omoku, and the late Deaconess Comfort Obuah (nee Otomah) in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State. He may be a young man, but a study of his historical rise and achievements in a life’s journey on a path dotted with thorns and thistles is worth the pains.

In 1985, he established the first private school in Omoku, Agwubata College of Commerce, with annex in Erema Town. Agwubata College of Commerce later metamorphosed into the present day Ogba Comprehensive High School, Omoku. He has incubated and successfully nurtured several businesses ever since.

In 1985, Obuah was appointed a youth leader under the Great Nigeria Peoples Party (GNPP). He contested for the position of Councillor under Zero Party arrangement in 1987, and the House of Representatives on the platform of Grass Roots Democratic Party (GDM) in 1997.

Richly endowed with the spirit of making others happy by giving and not getting tired, Bro. Obuah launched his philanthropic organisation, GO ROUND FOUNDATION, with the basic aim of assisting the needy of every age bracket, tribe and creed.

Some of his gestures of goodwill include distribution of emergency shelter, relief materials and funds to 2013 flood victims in Orashi; sponsorship of several local and international congresses of the Church of God (Seventh Day) and donation of church buildings for the propagation of the gospel of Jesus Christ, etc.

As chairman and founder of GO ROUND FOOTBALL CLUB, he has provided employment and empowerment opportunities for thousands of Rivers youths, orphans and the handicapped. He gives medical assistance to the less privileged.

Obuah has bankrolled athletics championship of secondary schools in Rivers State to help discover talents that would represent the state and country in national and international sporting events. His passion for sports is further demonstrated in his regular financial support to Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), both the Rivers State chapter and the national body. He sponsored Rivers Angels in 2003/2004 football season.

Bro Obuah loves people and sports. He treasures to see people fulfill their potentials in life. He is also the Paramount Ruler of Go Round Community and sponsors the annual Go Round Community Cultural Fiesta.

Obuah has held several positions, including, National President, Federal College of Education (Technical) Omoku Alumni Association (1996); District Overseer, Church of God, (Seventh Day), Usomini District (2004); Vice Chairman, Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Rivers State chapter; Chairman, Independent Parties Advisory Committee (IPAC), Rivers State; and the immediate past two-term chairman of the Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He is presently the Sole Administrator, Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA).

In recognition of his numerous contributions to humanity, Obuah has been greatly appreciated and is the recipient of several honours and awards from numerous local and international institutions, associations and establishments. These include: Award for the Facilitation of Academic Growth and Socio-economic Advancement in

ONELGA (2001), Award of Excellence for Support in Sports and Academics by Iwuanyanwu Ambulance Brigade (2001); Award for Distinguished Leadership and Humanitarian Service by Institute of Good Governance and Accountability (2003); Ambassador of Peace by the United Nations POLAC; Award of Excellence in Sports Development and Philantropism by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Ambassador for Societal Development and Transformation by the National Goodwill Ambassadors, etc.

At the heat of the COVID-19 pandemic, Obuah donated several food items and cash gifts to the less-privileged, groups, religious organisations, media organisations, churches, etc. Items he donated included thousands of tubers of yam, rice, beans, bags of garri, gallons of palm oil, cooking gas etc.

Obuah is committed to cultivating a good and enduring culture of giving. He has chosen to let the prosperity God showered on him goround.

He is, indeed, a leading light among his generation and one whose star will continue to illuminate the paths of so many people who come across him.

Presently, he is the largest single individual employer of labour in Rivers State. In addition, thousands of Rivers and non-Rivers youths are on his scholarship.

With traditional title, Mba Anabara Agu I of Orashi Region, he is a fellow of several institutes, like the Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria, National Institute of Public Management, Institute of Secretarial Administration and member, European Market Research Centre (EMRC).

Bro Felix Amaechi Obuah also won the prestigious SUN Newspaper Hospitality Man of the Year 2019 Award.

Bro Felix Amaechi Obuah, Sole Administrator, Rivers State Waste Management Agency, RIWAMA, is also a Distinguished Fellow of the foremost Federal College of Education (Technical) Omoku, Rivers State, Nigeria.

Bro Felix Amaechi Obuah, a choirmaster, teacher, church leader, detribalized, astute politician, irrepressible, emancipator, humane, exhilarating, grassroots mobilizer, resourceful, dependable, trustworthy, motivator, crusader, capacity builder, farmer, loving husband and father, administrator, philanthropist par excellence, is a man who has meritoriously earned himself sobriquets and titles more than his contemporaries.

High Chief Felix A. Obuah was on Saturday September 25, 2021 conferred with the prestigious chieftaincy title of IKEMBA IDEMILI by the good people of ancient Demili Land, Anambra at a colourful ceremony held at Oziowelle Mini Stadium/Civic Centre, Eziowelle Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

His is happily married with children.
