Gov Wike Bestowed DSSRS Honour On Burna Boy.
Burna Boy, the Pride of Rivers State has recieved the second highest honour in Rivers State for winning Grammy Award. The Rivers State governor bestowed DSSRS Honour (Distinguish Service Star, Rivers State) to the Odogwu of Africa.
The governor added a land property in old GRA as a gift, for making Rivers State proud.
This was bestowed to him during the Burna Boy’s Home Coming concert in Port Harcourt.
The Rivers State Governor (referring to Bukwild’s song) promised to show Port Harcourt Entertainers how to fish.
He gifts all the entertainers that performed #10million each, challenged other state governors to do the same for their state Artistes.
The State Governor attributes Burna Boy’s success to his administration, said that he is happy that Burna Boy won the Grammy during his time as the governor of Rivers State.
The 2021 Grammy Award winner, Damini Ogulu also known as Burna Boy said that his Home Coming in Port Harcourt is probably the biggest honour bestowed on him.
He was deeply grateful and incredibly humbled to the reception and honour conferred on him by the Government of Rivers State.
“I really appreciate being here. This is probably the biggest honour that will be bestowed on me since I was born. It is one thing to win the Grammy and to be applauded everywhere else in the world and another thing to be loved in your own home and that to me is worth more than anything I can get. So I appreciate you my Governor for taking your time out to do this.”
Port Harcourt Indigenous music artistes were billed to perform at the Home Coming Reception including Timaya, Omah lay, Duncan Mighty, Jikume and others.
