TNP STAKEHOLDERS COMMEND NNPCL BOARD AND PINL MANAGEMENT, PLEDGE SUPPORT

We, the undersigned representatives of communities situated along the Trans Niger Pipeline (TNP) corridor, extend our heartfelt commendation to Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri, Honourable Minister for State, (Petroleum) and the newly constituted Board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), ably led by Mr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari. We acknowledge and celebrate the wealth of experience, strategic foresight, and industry expertise the new board brings to bear in advancing Nigeria’s petroleum sector.

As stakeholders and partners in progress, we reaffirm our commitment to working collaboratively with NNPCL and Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited (PINL) to sustain the peace, stability, and prosperity of our region.

We further express our deep appreciation for the invaluable support of the National Security Adviser (NSA), the Chief of Defence Staff (CDD) and all security agencies. Their collaborative efforts to protect critical national assets have played a pivotal role in restoring security and boosting economic confidence across the Niger Delta.

We are especially grateful to NNPCL for engaging PINL to oversee surveillance and protection of the Trans Niger Pipeline. The professional and tireless efforts of PINL have significantly reduced oil theft and pipeline vandalism, contributing to near-zero incidents and a notable increase in national oil output. This is a commendable milestone in our shared pursuit of a secure and economically vibrant region.

We also wish to *seriously commend* the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum, Senator Heineken Lokpobri, for his unrelenting support to PINL and his commitment to eradicating oil theft while promoting a friendly environment. His leadership and vision have been instrumental in driving progress in the petroleum industry.

Nonetheless, we respectfully urge the government to address lingering economic and environmental challenges that underlie oil theft, illegal bunkering, and pipeline sabotage. A comprehensive and inclusive approach to tackling these root causes will ensure lasting peace and development.

We call on NNPCL and industry regulators to deepen engagement with host communities and key stakeholders to foster a more inclusive, secure, and investment-friendly environment.

Once again, we commend PINL for its resilience, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to securing the Trans Niger Pipeline, and we encourage NNPCL to sustain and expand its support for PINL’s operations.

*Signed,*

Representatives of Communities along the Trans Niger Pipeline (TNP)
