How Gov. Fubara Celebrated Easter In 319 Wards In Rivers State

Governor Siminalayi Fubara has shown that he is fully in charge of his Rivers structure across 319 Wards as all wards in Rivers State Celebrate the Governor’s Generosity and Leadership style. Gov. Fubara gave cows and cash gifts to the wards.

Some political leaders across the wards added more cows to the Easter gifts.

In a resounding show of unity, gratitude, and celebration, the 319 wards across Rivers State came alive during the 2025 Easter season as beneficiaries of a heartfelt gesture from the Executive Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS.

In the spirit of the celebration, the Governor distributed a cow and one million Naira to each ward—a gift that resonated deeply across all local government areas and further cemented his image as a people-oriented leader.

The Easter celebration took center stage at the Simplified Movement State Secretariat in Port Harcourt, where prominent leaders of the Simplified Movement gathered to express their appreciation.

Addressing the gathering, Rt. Hon. Edison Ehie remarked, “This event is not just a celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ but also a moment to reflect on the compassionate leadership of our Governor. His decision to ensure every ward and household feels the Easter spirit is a testament to his unwavering commitment to the wellbeing of Rivers people.”

Sentiments of loyalty and gratitude echoed across the 23 LGAs of Rivers State, including Asari-Toru, PHALGA, Ikwerre, Ahoada West, ONELGA, etcetera.

In Asari-Toru LGA, the celebration held at Buguma City drew an enthusiastic turnout. Speaking on behalf of the leadership, Rt. Hon. Orolosama Peter Amachree, former CTC Chairman of the LGA, expressed heartfelt thanks to Governor Fubara for his generosity. “This gesture reminds us that our Governor is not only a leader but a father figure. His love for the Kalabari people is visible in the multi-billion Naira Trans-Kalabari Road and ongoing infrastructure projects like the Buguma-Abalama-Degema-Abonnema Road,” “The Egyptian we see today, we shall see them no more. Our people’s Governor shall return to the Brick House.”

In ONELGA, Between Easter Sunday and Monday, the three wards of Ndoni Zone 13,14, and 15 received their share of His Excellency’s Easter largesse of 1 cow and 1 million naira each to all 319 wards of Rivers State.

This was also supported by the political leader of Ndoni District, Dr Adaeze Chidinma Odili Oreh, who provided an additional 3 cows, 120 bags of salt, and 148 bottles of groundnut oil to the 3 wards.

The Easter celebration culminated in a grand finale prayer and empowerment event on Wednesday 23rd April 2025 for nearly 200 women and appreciation of Ward leaders, coordinators, and executives drawn from the three wards who gathered in prayer for Nigeria, Rivers State, Ogba Egbema Ndoni LGA, Ndoni Zone, His Excellency Governor Siminalayi Fubara, the Honourable Commissioner for Health Dr. Adaeze Oreh, and her family, and all leaders, coordinators, and executives of Ndoni Zone.

Prince Isaac Umejuru who went round all 17 Wards of ONELGA was delighted to see the excitement, undiluted joy, appreciation, and spirit of solidarity amongst the people for His Excellency, Governor Fubara.

The former acting Sole Administrator of RIWAMA also hosted members for the distribution of the Governor’s Easter largesse.

On Saturday, April 19, 2025, leaders of the Simplified Movement in Port Harcourt Local Government Area (PHALGA) reaffirmed their support for Governor Siminalayi Fubara, expressing gratitude for his Easter gifts of ₦1 million and a cow to each of the 20 wards in the LGA, despite his suspension. They condemned the declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State by President Tinubu and criticized the alleged illegal appointments made by the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibas (Rtd), urging the President to lift the suspension and reinstate the Governor.

In Obio-Akpor LGA, the Simplified Movement convened across various wards. Speaking in Ward One, Ambassador Chijioke Ihunwo highlighted the Governor’s goodwill to the LGA, including the recent award of the contract for the construction of Oro-Igwe Road. He hailed Fubara’s Easter generosity and promised the people that the Governor would soon return to Govern the State.

Ikwerre LGA witnessed a large turnout of women adorned in red and white celebrating the good gestures of the Governor and assured that the Governor would return to his office in a couple of weeks following the Prayers offered, they also urged the women to continue in their prayers. Moreover, there was a very large turnout at the residence of Sir Mike Elechi where leaders and supporters of the governor reaffirmed their unwavering commitment against all odds

Similarly, Ahoada West LGA hosted a joyous distribution ceremony at Akinima, the LGA headquarters. Hon. Sokari Goodboy Sokari, House of Assembly member representing Ahoada West, praised the Governor for touching lives directly and extending his generosity to both indigenes and non-indigenes alike, Governor Fubara has shown true inclusivity. We’re grateful for a leader who sees everyone as one,” Sokari stated. He also personally added one million Naira and a cow for non-indigene residents as a gesture of unity.

The Easter celebration across Rivers State this year was marked not only by religious reflection but also by renewed hope and solidarity among the people— Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s Easter to largesse has left an indelible impression on the hearts of many, reinforcing his identity as a leader who leads with love and listens with intent.

Every LGA and Wards across Rivers State bubbled in Celebration of the Governor, Rivers people urged the President to quickly reinstate the Governor so the lofty projects he has commenced across the LGA of the State can be Completed.
