The elders of Ogba/Egbema/ Ndoni Local Government Area in Rivers State after a critical and objective analysis of the political situation in Rivers State
have called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to convoke the panel for reconciliation to commence the process of restoration of constitutional governance and democracy in Rivers State.
In their communique obtained by Dez Mayorz News, the elders said that the declaration of state of emergency in the State by Bola Ahmed Tunubu ( GCFR), president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria was borne out of misinformation, contrived and manipulated by desperate power mongers.
The elders request that concerted efforts be put in place by all Stakeholders to solve the problem.

A COMMUNIQUE BY OGBA-EGBEMA-NDONI LGA ELDERS FORUM IN RESPONSE TO THE POLITICAL IMBROGLIO IN RIVERS STATE.
18th April, 2025
We the elders of Ogba/Egbema/ Ndoni Local Government Area in Rivers State after a critical and objective analysis of the political situation in Rivers State do state as follows:
1.That the declaration of state of emergency in our dear State by Bola Ahmed Tunubu ( GCFR), president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria was borne out of misinformation, contrived and manipulated by desperate power mongers.
2.That we the people of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA voted massively for the Sir, Siminalayi Fubara as the Governor of Rivers State; And until the suspension, the Governor was doing credibly well and delivering in provision of critical infrastructure; health facilities, road construction, security, welfare, staff salary/pension etc.
3.That the suspension of democratically elected officials and the subsequent appointment of a sole Administrator who is flagrantly “demolishing” democratic institutions in the state is unconditional, illegal and undemocratic and will only exacerbate the political situation and stagnate development in our dear State.
4.That the panel for reconciliation of the political impasse in Rivers State, which the President promised, be convoked immediately to commence the process of restoration constitutional governance and democracy in Rivers State.
5.That we voted for the President, Bola Ahmed Tunubu in the 2023 General Election and will vote him again in 2027, as far as he meets our expectations for good governance and respect for Rule of law in the state.
CONCLUSION:
The political situation in Rivers State may be liken to using a gun to kill a mosquito. We request that concerted efforts be put in place by all Stakeholders: The Presidency, the National Assembly and the political gladiators, to facilitate amicable resolution of the political impasse; and immediate resumption of democratic governance in our State.
