Rivers Son, Senator Azuta Mbata Emerged President Of Ohanaeze Ndigbo

Wike’s brother, from same Obio/Akpor LGA, Senator John Azuta Mbata from Obio/Akpor LGA, Rivers State has been elected as the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide.

Mbata, a former Senator representing Rivers East at the National Assembly, was elected at the stakeholders meeting of the Igbo Socio-Cultural organization at the old government lodge Enugu, the Enugu State capital on Friday.

Mbata is an Apara Man from Eneka Clan In Obio-Akpor LGA of Rivers State, joins the race for the position of President General Of Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo late and still won.

He will suceed Nze Ozichukwu Fidelis Chukwu who was appointed to complete the tenure to succeed the late Chief Emmanuel lwuanyanwu.

Senatorial Azuta-Mbata who hails from Obio Akpo local government area of Rivers State was elected by consensus in the election which was witnessed by the Governors of Enugu, Imo and Anambra States.

Prince Okey Nwadinobi from Abia was elected as the National Deputy President while Chief Emeka Sibeidu from Anambra State is the new Secretary General of the Igbo group

The Governor of Ebonyi State was unable to attend but sent his Deputy to represent him, highlighting the widespread significance of the elections. Their presence underscored the importance of unity and collaboration among Igbo leaders. The participation of these governors further solidified the legitimacy and significance of the newly elected leadership.
