– Said Rivers State Government under Gov. Siminalayi Fubara has received over #726billion in the last 9 months but no meaningful projects to show for it.
The former Rivers State Commissioner for Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Chief (Sir) Sam Soni Ejekwu (Eze Omekwa Eli) showered praises on the former governor of Rivers State Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, the FCT Minister for the way he transformed Rivers State with his infrastructural developmental strives and mega human capital development.
Chief Sam Soni Ejekwu refers to Nyesom Wike as the political tsunami who did a lot of unbelievable projects, like 10 flyovers in a few years in Rivers State with the available allocation he received.
This he said in his residence in GRA, Port Harcourt when the Port Harcourt Media Organization paid him a thank you courtesy visit.
He stated that Wike has the interest of the state at heart and no one
has empowered human beings in the state more than him.
Pointed out that even those attacking Wike are those who have benefited more from him.
Chief Ejekwu bemoaned the slow rate of development in Rivers State under Governor Siminalayi Fubara, whom he said received a Monthly allocation of N30b but with nothing to show for it.
He added that Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s administration in Rivers State has received N726 billion in revenues in the last three quarters of the 2024 fiscal year, but no meaningful projects to show for it.
He concluded by thanking the Port Harcourt Media Organization for the visit, he commended the group for not betraying trust and loyalty for the most frivolous of reasons.
Said it takes maturity and discipline not to follow money flashers and ingrates.
He assured them that sooner than later, justice would prevail in Rivers State.

It has also received N122.4 billion as other receipts – Aid/Grants and Capital Development Fund in addition to its N6 billion opening balance for the 2024 fiscal year.
A breakdown of the recurrent revenue indicates that the state government received a total of N328.7 billion, 116 percent as FAAC revenue in nine months as against N283.2 billion budget provisions.
Also, the state government has received N269.2 billion, 116.5 percent as IGR as against N231 billion captured in the budget.

Governor Fubara, who was the accountant general of the state before being elected governor of Nigeria’s second richest state has repeatedly acknowledged a leap in the IGR of the state since becoming governor.
For instance, Mr Fubara said the state IGR has jumped from the about N12 billion monthly he met when he assumed office to N25 billion monthly.
A review of the BPR shows that the state made over N30 billion as IGR in some months.
