David Nchelem Chima has commended the Rivers State Government for the plans to transform the Port Harcourt tourist beach into a world-class tourism destination, saying such will boost the IGR of the state and property value increase.
In the 33-second video he posted on his social media handle, David Nchelem said the Beaches will be hosting festivals, events, and gatherings, hence promoting community bonding and showcasing local culture; which provides the coastal areas and the habitats a diverse wildlife and contributes to environmental awareness and conservation efforts.

The DMOMA Awards personality, David Nchelem summarized the benefits that the beaches will provide as follows:

On the 29th of October 2024, Dez Mayorz News reported that Gov. Sir Siminalayi Fubara visited the moribund Port Harcourt Tourist Beach and indicated the Government’s intention to transform it into a world-class tourist destination.
In January 2025, Landmark Africa the owners/developers of the popular Landmark Beach in Lagos stated on their official Twitter handle the plan to transform Port Harcourt Tourist Beach into a “World-Class Tourism Destination”.
Earlier, the CEO of Landmark Group, Paul Onwuanibe in an interview indicated how they have resolved to move part of their investment to other states in the country and other African countries after the demolition of their facility by the Lagos government.
