Veteran estate surveyor in southern Nigeria, Sir Collyns Owhonda has urged the Nigerian Government at all levels to partner with private sectors to mortgage houses for the low-income populace in Nigeria.
Said it is the surest way to solve the housing deficit in Nigeria.
This he said to the DMOMA Awards organizers who came to present his nomination letter in Eagle Island, having been nominated as the veteran estate surveyor of the decade.
Sir Collyns urged the people to always know the value of any land property before buying or selling the property for proper comparable valuing and costs.
Speaking on the ongoing construction of the Port Harcourt Ring Road by the Rivers State Government, Sir Collyns Owhonda said he is satisfied with the quality of construction works ongoing so far, said the Port Harcourt Ring Road will reduce time travel in the state and expand development across the state.
“Am not an engineer to rate the quality of works being done there, but I am satisfied with the quality of work I have seen so far at the sites.
When the road is done, I can now easily go to the airport without necessary passing through long routes anymore.” – he said.
When asked about the Rivers State political crisis, Sir Collyns blames political extremists who don’t like the FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and those who don’t like the State Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara as the cause.

A stakeholder of the Knight of St John International (KSJi), Sir Collyns shows his displeasure over the way the new generation churches and Pentecostal churches are abusing the essence of Christendom.
Said the Catholic Church remains the surest way to heaven.
He frowns on the way Pentecostals have turned the gospel messages into vested interest and attention-seeking, rather than preparing men for eternity.
Said it’s high time the followers understood, and were told by their G.O., that there is no other foundation laid except that which was laid by the master Jesus Christ.
He concluded by thanking the DMOMA Awards organizers for the nomination and promised to support the brand.
Sir Collyns Owhonda will be awarded the prestigious DMOMA Awards artifact as the Veteran Estate Surveyor together with 29 others on 4th December 2024 in Port Harcourt.
