The gentlemen of Press were in Rivers State government house on Tuesday 22nd May 2018 for press briefing.
It started with the National Anthem, followed by welcome address by Emma Okah -the Commissioner of Information.

Have you kept your campaign promises.?
Yes we made promises, yes we have fulfilled our promises. we had agreement with NDDC for them to contribute 55% out of 1.8billion for the project of Rivers State. We have given our own quota of the agreement but the NDDC failed us. They have not contributed a dine. No more partnership with NDDC. They have not refunded us. But that didn’t stop us from working, we are working.
We have completed 86% of all the projects we promised,
We must finish all the Project.
Rivers state now have Medical schools and college Rivers State University, BMH now has standard facilities and the project will be finished in October.
Bori Zonal hospital is furnished….
What’s your plan to maintain the projects for Rivers State people.?
I will make sure that all the projects in Rivers State are maintained and well funded even after I left office, it will be maintained. It is Rivers state projects and we must maintain it.

Security and lives of human being is very important. I put it first.
Promoted Civil Workers salary…...
Rivers state government will pay promoted workers their promomentals, the previous administration promoted workers but did pay them. This administration is working on paying them their promomental.
You raised alarm of Assassination…..
My life is threatened, I am serious. Our intelligent personels are informing me effectively and accordingly. You think because am the governor I sleep throughout out? No!

I know what am saying, my life is threatened because am in opposition party, Saraki the Senate president has also raised the same alarm. Our democracy is threaten, Nigeria is in trouble. But I can categorically tell you that they won’t succeed.

Rivers state Media houses needs renovation….
Rivers State Television(RSTV) will go digital and we will renovate state media houses. Radio Rivers, RSTV and Tide news houses to be completely renovated and furnished with State of the art equipments soon
Black Soot in Rivers State ….
Marine base destroyed bunkery products few days ago, ordered by federal government security agencies and not State governments. This causes serious soot. NNPC ,AGIP, SHELL are causing black soot. They are all under the federal government control.
State government is doing our best to stop it, but Federal government is politicizing it. Rivers state will go to court against the federal government. Soot is also affecting me the governor. Soot does not know who is APC or PDP, soot must stop.
Police and army clash in Rivers state…..
When hudrums attacked our judiciary, the police commissioner did nothing rather he switched off his phone. He doesn’t work for betterment of Rivers state people. They only time Police CP ever called me was when Army envaded them in Ada George and I decided to allow them tussle since CP doesn’t support us. Amaechi wants to take over Rivers state by all means, as if is his personal property, he wants Rivers State to crumble. They can’t intimate us.
Don Wani attacked my wife convoy earlier, I kept quiet….., Federal government and EFFC want to freeze our account, but am two steps ahead always.
Economic Situation of the state…. .
All the oil companies headquarters are in Lagos instead of Port Harcourt. Rivers state people should start to pay tax accordingly, we will effectively improve our internal revenue…..

It’s appalling that some social media houses, and news agency are reporting fake news especially Punch and Naija info. I have forgiven everyone who offended me and Rivers State people.

Youth Empowerment and job creation.
On 28th May, we laid a foundation academy for the youths. Over 3.000 persons have been trained on engineering jobs.
Young entrepreneurs are given loans without collateral, as long as you have prominent person to sign for you. Rivers state youths are not lazy. They are industrious.
We are effectively working on sports, youths can be trained in Real Madrid for coaching and playing, we are catching them young.
We are working…..
Women empowerment….
I respect women alot, I have worked with them because they are intelligent.we will have 150 councillors in Rivers State. We don’t just give Women money for trade, we involved them in leadership positions.
We have set aside 500million for women empowerment and to improve their trading without collateral.
2019: APC planning to rig and manipulate election ….how true is it?
They are laying foundation of violence because they want to manipulate the election but I will wait for them here, It won’t work. The voice of the people will prevail.
How do you fund Rivers State projects when is clear that the predecessor didn’t Leave money in the treasury…..
I know how it work. I know and understand the system. Rivers government structure is better than Aso Villa. We are making sacrifice. Although many of my commissioners are not happy but we all are making sacrifices. Look at mile 1 market, we are making it standard.
What brought up your saga with IG police?
Security issue, I said the truth, I just said what INEC said about a person indicted of a serious criminal act.
I should get award for defending democracy and not opposition trying to kill me for saying the truth….
