ADMINISTRATOR/MAYOR OF PHALGA RECONSTITUTES AND APPOINTS 1217 PERSONS TO VARIOUS COMMITTEES
In a decisive move to strengthen grassroots governance and enhance service delivery across key sectors, the Administrator/Mayor of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area (PHALGA), Dr. (Barr.) Samuel B. Kalagbor, DSSRS, has approved the reconstitution and appointment of 1217 persons to various strategic committees within the LGA.
The appointments, which took effect on Friday, June 20th, 2025, cover a wide array of essential service points and administrative zones, with a strong focus on market management, sanitation, revenue generation, and urban renewal. The committees are designed to ensure effective monitoring, improved coordination, enhanced civic engagement, and service delivery at the local level.
The reconstituted committees include:
1. Ticketing Unit Nkpolu-Oroworukwo Park
2. Fruit and Vegetable Market.
3. Afikpo Market.
4. Rumuwoji (Mile 1) Market.
5. Revenue Payment Verification
6. Nkpolu-Oroworukwo (Mile 3) Park.
7. Nkpolu-Oroworukwo (Mile 3) Market Revenue
8. Abali Park
9. Abali Park Toilet Committee
10. Railway/Flyover
11. Bayelsa Park
12. Sangana Market Committee
13. Cemetery
14. Tricycle/ Buses Daily Ticket (Ward 20)
15. Sanitation Committee
16. Elekahia Mechanic
17. Block Moulding/Vulcanizers
18. Flood Management
19. Electronic/Social Media

Dr. Kalagbor emphasized that the newly reconstituted committees are expected to function with integrity, diligence, and commitment to public service.
