Rivers State Needs Peace Not Fubara – Rivers Women Said As They Rally Support For The Sole Administrator
Dez Mayorz News.
The streets of Port Harcourt were littered with a wave of white-clad women marching in full support of President Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency.
The coalition, led by Ifeyinwa Aguma, former Commissioner for Social Welfare kicked off their march from Garrison flyover to Isaac Boro Park, holding bold placards that read:
“State of Emergency is Constitutional”
“We Want Peace In Rives Not Fubara”
The women openly threw their weight behind the state’s Sole Administrator, Ibok-Ette Ibas, encouraging him to press on with his leadership efforts in the state.
This protest follows closely on the heels of last week’s demonstration by women in black who came out in support of suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara, signaling a deepening divide among groups in Rivers State.
In the words of Chief Obiaruko Ndukwe, ‘The clapback by the “white women” after the “black women” was huge!
In all, we need peace.
