Primary Healthcare Enhancement: Federal Ministry Of Health And Social Welfare, Partners With The Office of The SSA To The President On Community Engagement.
In a collaborative effort to enhance Primary Healthcare across the 774 Local Governments in the Country and address communal diseases like Malaria, TB, Hepatitis; infant mortality as well and maternal deaths; the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare has partnered with the Office of Senior Special Assistants to the President on Community Engagement.
On Friday 28/02/2025, Hon. Barr. Chioma Nweze- Senior Special Assistant to the president on community engagement, South East, together with her colleagues from other political zones were at the Ministry where they had an engaging discussion with the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare Dr. Ali Pate CON.
Dez Mayorz News gathered that the Minister of Health has agreed for them to be part of the Ministry’s quarterly meetings with the Commissioners of Health from the 36 States to get involved in the Sector Wide Approach (SAP) of the Ministry in the provision of Primary Health Care Services.
The Minister highlighted the roadmap of his Ministry towards making the country self-sustainable, especially with the advent of the USAID withdrawal, and how he has positioned the Ministry towards achieving the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.
Dez Mayorz News earlier reported that The office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagements (South-East), Hon. Barr. Chioma Nweze will launch an empowerment program in South East ‘SKILL-UP SOUTH-EAST AGENDA’ on 8th March 2025 in Ebonyi State, which is an initiative of the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President.
Hon. Barr. Chioma Nweze will flag off the four-month free tailoring training exercise aimed at unveiling the fashion potential in Igbo-Land.
The empowerment will Feature:
– 4 Months of free tailoring training exercise.
– Free Accommodation for the period of the training.
– Empowerment with modern tailoring facilities and startup grants.
Also, the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagements (South-East), will flag off the health program on the same date, 8th March 2025 (11am) at David Umahi Federal University of Health Science, Ohaozara, Ebonyi State
The health program is on;
1. Free cancer screening for 6 months
2. free eye testing and free glasses for the first 200 patients
3. free dialysis for one year.
This is in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s promotion of healthy communities in the South East region of Nigeria.
