Rivers NUJ Have Lost The Essence Of Its Founding Fathers – Port Harcourt Media Organization Responded To Rivers NUJ

The Port Harcourt Media Organization has responded to the Rivers State NUJ press statement concerning the new group.
In a response statement signed by the Port Harcourt Media Organization’s coordinators, the Group was disappointed with NUJ’s unprofessionalism and refers the Rivers State NUJ executives as a group of ‘brown envelope seekers’ using the NUJ platform to perform the bidding of an individual.
Said they can’t be intimidated by their ignorant stance.
The group bemoaned the unnecessary press statement of the NUJ on the group, where the NUJ disowned the group and called for the arrest of their leader.
The media group said they have the right to belong to any group and the right to join the Rivers NUJ that have lost the essence of its founding fathers or not join them.

RESPONSE TO THE IGNORANT STANCE OF RIVERS NUJ
The Port Harcourt Media Organization read in grave disappointment the unfounded stance of the Nigerian Union of Journalists Rivers State Chapter. In a vindictive scripted letter signed by its Chairman and Secretary disowning the “faceless media group” called Port Harcourt Media Organization one can easily deduce that the Union has not only lost the essence of its founding fathers like Enerst Ikoli and other season journalist of the Fourth Estate of the Realm but on an impossible voyage.
It is pathetic that a Union whose tentacle of control lies ONLY on their registered members and affiliate unions, with no official Government Regulatory Responsibility, have decided to breach the very essence of their establishment in a bid to control the Social Media Space – which is a world of its own.
In their truncated views, the Union decided to call for the arrest of the leader of Port Harcourt Media Organization Mr Bright Nnokam, as a response to the organization being “faceless”. – What an Irony!
For the records, members of the Port Harcourt Media Organization are seasoned Social Media Practicioners who are fortified with information and professionally carrying-out investigative journalism and disseminating verified information through the cyber space for the consumption of humanity and all lovers of seasoned information.
It is worthy to note carefully that, delineating the visit to the Revered Honourable Member representing the good people of Port Harcourt Federal Constituency 2 – Hon Barr Mrs Blessing Chigeru Amadi to the fray speaks volume. And that, as an online Media Organization, we are aware of the unholy overtures made by the likes of the NUJ Secretary – Ike Wigodo on the Honourable Member, which has yielded no positive results, due to the fact that the Honourable Member in her honour refuses to fraternize with such unstable character, he has therefore employed the “pen which is mightier than the sword” to demean anything concerning the Federal Lawmaker.
The Port Harcourt Media Organization wants to categorically make it succinctly clear that, we defend the truth in and out of season. The organization cannot be intimidated by Nigerian Union of Journalists who have chosen to throw away professionalism in the waste bin for the love of BROWN ENVELOP and performing the bidding of an individual.
The organization wants to advice the NUJ to concern itself with the dwindling nature of its activities and seek ways to resuscitate itself and not to resort to using the Port Harcourt Media Organization to trend. We do make bold to say that, no one can stop the voice of reasoning.
Port Harcourt Media Organization is formidable. We are not faceless. The Organization’s activities are not in contravention of the laws of Nigeria and shall continue to carry out its responsibility without fear or favour.
Indeed, THE PEN IS MIGHTIER THAN THE SWORD.
