American-based businessman, Chief Ndubuisi Iwuanyanwu has reaffirmed his deep-rooted connection to his homeland, declaring that Amuzi, Dim-Na-Nume community, in Nwangele Local Government Area of Imo State will always remain his home, regardless of where life takes him.
Iwuanyanwu, who stated this during the celebration of Amuzi Day on New Year’s Day, Wednesday, January 1, 2025, said the event served as a poignant reminder of this bond, bringing together locals and those in the Diaspora.
Chief Iwuanyanwu, who traveled from the United States to attend the event, described it as “one of the finest in the annals of Amuzi Community.”
“It’s heartwarming to see how our community continues to thrive and celebrate its rich heritage,” he remarked, highlighting the strong sense of togetherness evident throughout the celebration.
While reflecting on the importance of community gatherings like the Amuzi Day Celebration, the youthful businessman emphasized that no matter where he went, Amuzi would always be his home.
“Events like this remind us of our shared values and the importance of community. I am proud to be an Amuzi man, and I can’t wait to return for next year’s festivities.”
During the ceremony, awards were conferred upon several distinguished members of the community, a moment that Chief. Iwuanyanwu deemed essential.
“Recognizing the achievements of our daughters and sons is crucial,” he stated. “It inspires the younger generation to pursue excellence and remain connected to their roots.”
Chief Ndubuisi Iwuanyanwu said he was captivated by the cultural dance by the Amuzi women, adding that “They embody the spirit and resilience of the people, and It’s these traditions that keep our identity alive, even when we’re miles away.”
He also praised the Amazing Grace International Band led by Ozioma Ben Chima for their stirring performance of “Amuzi My Fatherland,” calling it an anthem that resonates deeply with anyone connected to the community.
Chief Iwuanyanwu further expressed enthusiasm regarding Chief Johnbosco Ozigbo’s announcement of an ultramodern Civic Center to be built in Amuzi.
“This is a game-changer for Amuzi community,” he asserted. “It will serve as a hub for cultural and social activities, strengthening ties within the community and beyond. I wholeheartedly support this initiative and look forward to seeing how it unfolds.”
