Land Dispute: Winners Chapel Pastor, Christian Owhonda Arrested For Signature Forgery
Nigerian Police in Rivers State have arrested one Pastor Christian Owhonda, a pastor in a Winners Chapel International (Living Faith Church) for signature forgery over an attempt to claim a ‘Deed of Grants’ that Late Chief Godson Orlu granted him a parcel of land of Worlumejuru Family, measuring 96 feet length and 17 feet width;
with five shops building at No. 32 Olu Obasanjo Road, Mile 3, Diobu, Rivers State in Nigeria.
Christian Owhonda is allegedly put to forge late Chief Godson Orlu’s signature, purporting that the chief signed the land to him.
It was gathered that the signatures of Late Chief Godson Orlu from other documents he signed when he was alive do not correspond to the signature presented by Christians Owhondah.
Speaking to Dez Mayorz News, the family members said that in no time did their late Chief grant the land to Christian Owhonda.
Mr. Chike Orlu, the son of the late chief said that the land doesn’t belong to Christian Owhonda, and added that Christian Owhonda had been lobbying to bribe him with Five Hundred Thousand Naira to say that the signature is that of his Dad’s when he is sure that the signature doesn’t belong to the chief.
Also, the Late Chief’s wife has made a police statement, saying that the late Chief didn’t give Christian Owhonda any land, and also affirming that the signature is forged and doesn’t belong to her late husband.
Christian Owhonda has been granted bail as a serious Police forensics investigation is ongoing to determine the authenticity of the signature.
Christian Owhonda is yet to react on the development.
