Kidnapping has reduced drastically in Rivers State – NDDC boss, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku.

The Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku has commended the Rivers State Police Command for living up to their responsibility in this festive period, in securing lives and properties, said kidnapping has reduced in Port Harcourt and Rivers State in general.

This he said at the Rivers State Police Headquarters at the commissioning ceremony of the Communication Equipment donated by NDDC to the Police Command under his watch.

Dr. Samuel Ogbuku said the NDDC will continue to support security agencies to have peace to develop the region.
He added that the equipment is to enhance the performance of the police and intelligence sharing in Rivers State and beyond.

The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Mustapha Mohammed Bala, ably represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police Samuel Erale, thanked the NDDC for the donation, noting that it would enhance the police’s ability to maintain law and order throughout the state.

The project was initiated by the DMOMA Award top security personality of the year, the immediate Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Disu Tunji who is currently the Commissioner of Police, FCT Abuja.
Speaking at the ceremony via Zoom, Tunji Disu commends the NDDC for helping the police command and said the equipment will be optimally used for the well-being and protection of lives and properties of the state.

The Rivers State Police Command has received a significant boost in its crime-fighting capabilities with the donation of advanced communication equipment by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). The donated items include: radio transmitters, walkie-talkies, systems, masts, etc.

The collaboration between the NDDC and the police highlights the importance of partnerships between governmental agencies in addressing security challenges and ensuring the safety of citizens. It is a call for more agencies and commissions to partner with the Nigerian police.
