The news of the redeployment of the Rivers State Commissioner of Police Tunji Disu to Abuja was unbelievable, as Rivers people across the political divide frown at the redeployment of the CP, saying it is very wrong timing when the state is enjoying peace and harmony amidst the political crisis in the state.
The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has redeployed the Commissioner of Police, Rivers Command, Tunji Disu, to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, as part of ongoing efforts to restructure and boost security in the country.
To avoid a leadership vacuum in Rivers, the Police boss has redeployed the Delta Commissioner of Police, Olufemi Abaniwonda, to the State while ordering CP Peter Opara to leave the FCT.
As gathered, the signal for the redeployment and restructuring has been approved by the IGP and has been dispatched on Tuesday for implementation.
The apolitical Commissioner of Police, Tunji Disu vigorously fought against crime in the state.
He was able to gun down most of the notorious criminals in Rivers state, including 2Baba, John Togo(Pyrate Kingpin), Solution, General 2Man, and Boy Satan.
He is one of the best CPs to serve the state, if not the best.
