Rivers State LGA saga: Appeal Court struck out an Application for Joinder

The Court of Appeal, Port Harcourt division on Monday struck out the appeal on the matter on LGA chairman tenureship.
It was a ruling on the application for Joinders brought by Dr. Chidi Lloyd and Co.
The Applications before the Appellant Court were for Joinders and was struck out of being incompetent as a result of the Rules of Court and were not followed by the Applicant Counsel before filing the Appeal.
According to the legal jurists, the ruling is not a foreclosure to make a proper application or legitimate the illegal Caretaker committees that is an affront to the Constitution.
The Rivers State House of Assembly that amended the local government law was not a party to the Suit.
Meanwhile, Pro-Wike Rivers State House of Assembly led by Rt. Hon. Martin Amaewhule has issued a 7-day ultimatum to Governor Siminalayi Fubara to re-present the 2024 budget to the House.
Elsewhere. pro-Fubara speaker, Rt. Ojo-Jumbo has screened & confirmed Barr. Emmanuel Frank-Fubara as Commissioner-designate.
Mr. Emmanuel is a legal luminary who hails from Abonnema in Akuku-Toru LGA.
