Miss Earth Nigeria 2024 sets to coronate a new queen this Sunday 21st July, 2024 at Palacio Event Center, GRA Phase 2, Port Harcourt.
Speaking to Dez Mayorz News and other newsmen on Monday at Portland Hotel, Port Harcourt at the ‘Sashing’ of the delegates (contestants); the Brand Ambassador for Air Peace and Image Make-Up in Nigeria, and the National Director of Miss Earth Nigeria Beauty Pageant, Miss. Ibinabo Feberesima disclosed that young women from across the country would converge at the Palacio Event Center, Port Harcourt to incorporate the new queen.
She hinted that the beauty pageants were advocates of numerous awareness campaigns to promote a green and clean environment including protection and preservation of biodiversity, eco-restoration through tree planting, upcycling of waste as well as using it for arts/crafts.
According to Fiberesima, Nigerians need to do more to protect the environment by engaging in activities that are not in any way detrimental.
She kicked against indiscriminate dumping of refuse and called for recycling and upscaling of wastes as a veritable means to sustainable environmental practice.
Dez Mayorz News learned that the Pageant is an international event that was brought to the fore with a vision to channel the beauty pageant entertainment industry as an effective tool to promote environmental awareness and find a lasting solution to the dangers posed by wrong environmental practices.
Miss Earth Nigeria is an annual national beauty pageant in Nigeria to selects its representative for the international Miss Earth pageant.
