International Airport Protest: Gov Fubara Intervened
Governor Fubara, intervened in a dispute between the Port Harcourt International Airport management and the Ipo community, which disrupted airport operations due to a protest by women of the community.
The women barricaded the airport’s only access road, causing flight delays.
Following a meeting with both parties, a peace deal was reached; the women agreed to withdraw their protest, and the airport management promised to address community concerns through corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Government officials and community leaders expressed gratitude for the swift resolution and emphasized the importance of meeting the development needs of host communities.
