Rivers State: Wike And Fubara Must Work Together For The Common Interest Of The State – Goodluck Jonathan

– Flagged off the #225b Trans-Kalabari road project in Rivers State.

The former president of Nigeria, His Excellency, Goodluck Eberechukwu Jonathan has called on FCT Minister, Nyesom Ezebunwo Wike and Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara to work together.

This he said during the official flag off of the Trans Kalabari Road Project at Aker Base Junction, Rumuolumeni in Obio Akporvolved LGA on Monday.
Some of the statements read in parts:

“FCT Minister, Nyesom Ezebunwo Wike and Rivers State governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara must work together for the development of the land and infrastructure of Rivers State for the betterment of the state.
It is very important and critical in this country.
Rivers State is the heart of the Niger Delta.
If Rivers State is destabilized, the whole Niger Delta will be destabilized.
I know how the system of this country works.
We don’t want any crisis in Rivers State.”

“Leaders must learn that nobody takes 100%, you must learn the principle of give and take.
If you love Rivers State, you must work together.
I call on the political actors to work and embrace themselves. Outgoing governors and incoming governors must work together for the development of their states. I join well-meaning people in the nation to call for a cease-fire.
I appeal to both Minister Wike and Governor Siminalayi to forget what is past and come together for the sake of Rivers State.
You cannot clap with one hand. Let us do things that will rather project the state. ” -President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR also commended Gov. Fubara’s developmental strives in Rivers State, saying Fubara has shown commitment to moving Rivers State to a higher level.

Speaking at the flagoff ceremony, the Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara has tasked hosts communities of the Trans-Kalabari road project, the Rumuolumeni and Kalabari communities to support the speedy delivery of the project by cooperating with the contractors handling the road project, Lubrik Construction Limited to ensure its successful completions.
Said his administration won’t borrow to execute the project.

Dez Mayorz News earlier reported that the Rivers State Executive Council has approved and awarded the contract for the construction of the 12.5-kilometer Trans-Kalabari road project at the contract sum of N225,114,563,830.02. The road has four crossing bridges of 576m, 288m, 360m, and 108m and 3 Deck-on-pile of different meters ranging from 450 to 700 respectively.
