This he said at the press briefing for the coming ‘3rd Session Of The 7th Synod’ of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Diocese of Okrika
Addressing the press at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Abuloma, on a synod’s theme: “I See Grace” Isaiah 30:18; Lord Bishop Enoch Atuboyedia said God’s Grace has remembered the Wakirike and Okrika people, that God’s grace and the Rivers State Government have remembered the Wakrike people by the ongoing rebuilding of the Okrika Grammar School and others.
The bishop added that despite the security challenges and other problems in Nigeria, the only thing keeping the country one is the Grace of God.
Some of his statements read in part:
“Our theme for this year’s Synod is “I See Grace” Isaiah 30:18.
The commonest definition of Grace is; unmerited favour. However, I see grace as ‘that which keeps me going, when ordinarily I cannot go again.’
“It is by His grace that we are saved.
We are forgiven by His grace; we are made strong in our weakness by His grace; it is His grace that canceled our sins, and this grace is always sufficient.”
“Looking around our country Nigeria with its numerous problems, and that we are still one united country – I See Grace. Considering the political climate of Rivers State – I See Grace.
I See Grace in the Wakirike nation. I See Grace in the Diocese of Okrika. I See Grace in all of us.”
“We, therefore, use this medium to invite the Government, Captains of Industry, the Political Class, our reverends, Traditional Rulers, Business Men and Momen, Opinion Leaders, the Church of Christ across her denominations, and indeed the general public to join us from Thursday 2nd to Sunday 5th May, 2024 at St. James Anglican Church, Ogoloma, and See the Grace of God at work. The LORD Bless you all” – Bishop Enoch Atuboyedia.
The Synod is the highest policy-making body of a diocese.
The year’s synod will run from Thursday 2nd May 2024 to Sunday 5th May 2024.
Over 250 Delegates attend the synod, drawn from the various Districts and Parishes that make up the diocese, where the Bishop will present
‘The Bishop’s Charge’ charges the diocese on the path to go, in terms of policies, administration, discipline, morality and ethics, spirituality, and the Word.
