Omodu Jack West calls on Rivers State Government and elites to support the state Entertainment Industry.
– Said The Politicians Past And Present Have Failed The State Entertainment Industry In The State.

The top Entertainment personality in Nigeria, Omodu Jackwest Worlu bemoaned Rivers State politicians and elites for their failure to invest in the creative and entertainment industries in Rivers State.
This he made known to media men when the organizers of the prestigious DMOMA Awards presented him with a nomination letter in Port Harcourt.
Omodu calls on the Rivers State Government and elites to invest in the entertainment industry by luring big media houses like Soundcity, and Arisetv to Rivers State to the state with incentives and leverages or by supporting existing media house to stand big.
“The government of Rivers State, both present and past has not been supportive of the state creative and entertainment Industry.
Only the likes of Felix Obuah and Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs support.”
“Over 60% of the Lagos creative arts are from South-South and South East, mostly from Port Harcourt.
In the music industry, Burna Boy and Omahlay are from Port Harcourt.
Sabinus (Mrfunny) is among the biggest skit makers if not the biggest in Nigeria.
In Nollywood, is it the likes of Hilda Dokubo, Julius Agwu, Tonto Dike, etc., they are all from Rivers State.”
“To build the Rivers State Entertainment industry, Port Harcourt needs a heavy media presence to excel.
There’s no Soundcity, Arisenews, Channels TV, Trace, etc., they have no offices in the state.
The government should approach and lure the media houses to Rivers State with leverages and incentives or massively support existing and growing media houses to stand big.
This will play a major role in the growth of Entertainment in the state because if it’s about talents, there are talents in Rivers State who needs exposure and brand visibility” – Omodu Jackwest Worlu said.
Omodu Jackwest Worlu is an entertainment stakeholder in Nigeria who has managed artists like Duncan Mighty and Durella. He played a role in Burna Boy’s early success.
His father was the first ikwerre man to play music internationally.
His company is into Music Digital Marketing.
He is nominated for the 2023 prestigious DMOMA Award (Entertainment category) scheduled to hold on 4th December 2023.
