Gov Wike Breaks Record, Appoints 28,000 Advisers In 24 Hours.
– Approves N1b to support flood victims.
There is hope in the camp of Rivers State PDP loyal to Gov Nyesom Wike as Rivers State governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike
approved the appointment of the 28,000 (Twenty Eight Thousand) Special Assistants for political units in the State and the appointments take immediate effect.
It will be recalled that the governor had on Tuesday, 11 October, 2022 appointed 319 Ward Liaison Officers and 40 Local Government Area Liaison Officers.
This is the first time such numbers are appointed by State government even though it’s for election matters.
Also, the governor approved the sum of N1Billion (One Billion Naira), for emergency relief measures to support flood victims in Ahoada West and Ogba/Egbema/ Ndoni Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the State.
The governor, who empathised with the flood victims, has also set up a Taskforce to coordinate the distribution of relief materials to affected communities in the State.
Flooding has become a natural disaster in Nigeria recently, with Anambra, Kogi, Rivers State, Bayelsa State, others toping the most affected states.
NIMET has told Nigerians to prepare for more flood and worse conditions.
