DMOMA Awards: No Ethnic Nationality Have Benefited From Gov Wike’s Administration Like Ekpeye People – Ahoada East Chairman, Chief Ben Eke
The chairman of the Ahoada East Local Government Area in Rivers State, Chief (Hon.) Barrister Ben Eke has commended the Rivers State Governor on his developmental strives and projects, says Ahoada East and Ekpeye people are very happy with the administration of Governor Nyesom Wike.
This he said when DMOMA Awards organizers visited him to present his nomination letter to him.
Hon. Ben Eke commends the modern Rivers State youth, said that the current Rivers youth are spectacular who before now, people had the impression that they are lazy and timid but the Rivers State youth today aspire to be leaders in whatever groups they found themselves.
His statement reads in parts;
“The Youth are not only the leaders of tomorrow, they are also the leaders of today and need to be encouraged. I love the youth.”
“This current Rivers State youth are spectacular. Before now, there is this impression that Rivers youth are lazy and timid with complex problem but the Rivers State youth today aspire to be leaders in whatever groups they found themselves. Anywhere you go now, you will see proud Rivers youth.”
“Since I became the chairman of my LGA, I have not heard of youth restiveness and cult clash among the youth especially in higher institutions.”
“In my administration since 2018, youth always occupy 70% of the appointive positions.”- Chief Ben Eke said.
When asked about his projects in the LGA, the chairman Chief Ben Eke said;
“By the grace of God, we are able to embark on people oriented projects, targeted for the youth to benefit. Skills Acquisition Programmes ongoing is ongoing. In tailoring, first batch have graduated and another 80 persons are currently in the ongoing second batch.”
“We also provide ‘start up packs’ for them. 60 persons are learning cattery and will graduate in December. 60 learning hair dressing (All will get starter pack when graduated).150 person are learning ICT Programmes, and they are all youth.”
“We renovated the buildings where they are learning and bought all the necessary equipments and generator for power supply, especially the tailoring sector.”
“We built the home economics structure from foundation, it houses cattery and hair dressing learning centers. During my birthday, they made about three different cakes for me and I was almost emotional about it, because they are so good at it. We built and equipped mechanic workshops.”
“We are able to build an office for Universal Basic Education. First of its kind. Apart from University Basic Education in Port Harcourt, the next place you will find Universal Basic Education office is my Ahoada local Government. Well built and furnished. We reconstructed class rooms and equipped them.”
“We did electrification project. Before now my area in the LGA don’t have light but now we have.We reconstructed roads in Ahoada that leads to where our chiefs and traditional rulers hold their meetings.”
“We built 51 open stores and it is due for Commissioning. We are able to construct a new look council fence and beautiful gate.”
“We pay bursary to students from our LGA since 2018 and on Friday we will be processing paying for the next bursary. Our mothers are not left out. We give them grants. The CDC Chairman are taken care of. We take care of physically challenged people aswell. I have SA on that.”
“Outside the staff in the council, we pay about 970 persons including those in various committees. We used to register students on WAEC and NECO before the state government took over the registration.”
“We organize football and wrestling competitions yearly and support every clans to carry out sports programmes and provide sporting equipments to school. We held Ahoada East sports festival.” – Hon. Ben Eke expounded.
The chairman offered his panorama towards the projects of the state government, Nyesom Wike and this is what he said;
“No Local Government Area or ethnic nationality have benefited from Gov Wike’s administration like Ekpeye people are doing. The governor has done good enough for our people.”
“He has sited some Rivers State University’s faculties in Ahoada East which will boom our economy and our people will have more access to education.”
“His Excellency, Nyesom Wike, completed many roads including Ahoada-Ekpena road in Ahoada and constructed internal roads in Ahoada. And all the jobs were executed by our local contractors.”
“The hospital he built will be among the best when commissioned. He has also installed 7 first class chiefs in Ekpeye.” – The articulated chairman, Ben Eke said.
He concluded by commending the DMOMA Awards organizers and thanked people that nominated him for the prestigious award.
