Gov Wike To Dualize Iloabuchi Road, Sets To Kick-Start Stomach Infrastructure In Rivers State.
The Rivers State governor, H.E. Nyesom Ezebunwo Wike has reiterated his readiness to dualize Iloabuchi road, Diobu, Port Harcourt.
The governor who has commissioned six flyovers projects and more 6 to commissioned, said that it’s hightime he commenced stomach infrastructure in Rivers State, the time to empower the people.
Gov Wike orders compulsory acquisition of Saro-Wiwa’s property in Port Harcourt – Portharcourt.
He ordered the commissioner for lands and housing and the Secretary to the State Government to commence the process of acquiring Saros Plaza, the corporate office complex belonging to the late Ogoni leader, Ken Saro-Wiwa.
Wike said the abandoned complex was defacing the flyover he built near the property.
The property was abandoned in 1994 after it was vandalized following Nigerian government’s persecution of Saro-Wiwa. Saro-Wiwa and eight of his associates were eventually tried and executed by the government.
The Mayor of Port Harcourt, Sir Hon. Allwell Ihunda JP, heartily welcomed Governor Nyesom Wike and the special guest of honour, H.E Sen. Bala Mohammed Governor of Bauchi State, and their entourage to Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, as they commissioned the OroAbali Flyover, the sixth flyover in the series of flyovers constructed and commissioned by the administration of Gov Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
He commended and thanked Gov Wike for building 3 Flyovers and the 4th one nearing completion in Port Harcourt Local Government Area, and other numerous urban renewal projects.
