The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Ezebunwo Wike has placed a ban on all night club activities, trading and prostitution on Abacha Road GRA and other major streets across the state.
Said no responsible government will tolerate the open display of sexual party, child abuse, street prostitution, drug trafficking and other illegal activities.
Gov Wike reinstated his commitment to reduce crime in the state to minimal.
Said his administration will continue to go after all criminals and destroy their hideout chanties, as the Rivers State Government will also take over and reallocate abandoned buildings and empty plots of land especially in GRA use by criminals to cause problem.
The state governor vowed to go after illegal bunkery activities in the state, directs Port Harcourt Mayor to go after illegal bunkery areas and shut them down immediately.
He plead on the Federal Government to come to the aide of the state to end black soot caused by illegal bunkery activities in the state.
He also ban illegal trading under all the flyovers and direct tasks force to arrest and prosecute anyone caught doing business under flyovers.
Placed Ban on cart pushers, indiscriminate dumping of refuse on the streets.
He thank the citizens, security forces, religious leaders and all the people for all the trust and support they continue to give his administration and wished them a prosperous new year 2022.
