Traditional rulers, professionals, leaders, and people from the four Ogoni LGAs of Rivers State hold a civic reception in appreciation of Governor Wike’s works in Ogoniland as they recognise Governor Wike as the Mene kwalenu of Ogoni (The king that makes good things).
The People of Eleme, Tai, Khana and Gokana that make up the Ogoni adminstrative block unite at the grand reception organized by the people of Ogoni in honor of the Governor of Rivers State, Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike at Bori.
The Grand reception in honor of the Governor witnessed by chiefs, elders, elites, state and local government officials as well as Youths of the area saw the enthronement of Governor Wike as the Gbene Mene Konelu (Chief of Right Word and Sayings) by the Ogoni Council of Traditional rulers.
Goodwill messages was rendered by the following at the event: Governor Wike, Senator Birabi, Senator Magnus Abe, Senator Barry Mpigi, KAGOTE Chairman, Emmanuel Deeyah and a host of Ogoni leaders stressed on the need for Unity among the Ogoni people so as to advance the interest of the area.
Governor Wike thanked Ogoni people for honouring him just after Ogbakor Ikwerre and promise to do something significant that will make Ogoni happy.
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has replied to persons opposed to the recent decisions of Southern governors on open grazing and other issues saying the governors’ demands are irrevocable.
Wike, insisted that their demands must be respected reminded critics of the governors that no section of the country is inferior to others.
Also in the news, Gov Wike reviewed Rivers State Curfew Curfew to ‘8.30pm to 6am’ from Sunday in Port Harcourt City and Obio/Akpo LGA only as other LGAs still remains 7pm to 6am.
