Chibuike Amaechi Flag-Off Eastern Narrow Gauge Railway Project in Port Harcourt.
The ground breaking ceremony of the Eastern Narrow Gauge Railway Project, Bonny Deep Seaport And Railway Industrial Park in Port Harcourt, Rivers State was a huge success this Tuesday, 9th March, 2021.
According to Rt. Hon Chibuike Amaechi, Honourable Minister of Transportation, the railway projects will connect Eastern Nigeria.
He said the Whole South East will be connected to the Narrow Guage Rail from Port Harcourt to Maiduguri with a Deep-Seaport in Bonny.
Dez Mayorz Media was in attendance at the ground breaking, as the Nigerian presidency virtually Flag-off the project.
The Port Deep Sea/ Railway project is expected to generate ten-thousand Jobs during the construction and five thousand permanent jobs when operational.
The Port- Harcourt / Maiduguri Rail will run at 60-80km per hour for freight and 80-100km for passengers.
According to Femi Adesina, the Media aide to the Nigerian president, the Virtual ground breaking ceremony presided by President Buhari is for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of Port-Harcourt-Maiduguri Eastern Narrow-Guage Railway with the new branch lines and trans-shipment Facilities, Bonny Deep Sea Port and Railway Industrial Park.
