Again, on Sunday 7th June, 2020 the mini market in Mgboshimini Orazi community in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of the State was also received its executive wrath after the Governor ordered its demolition.
Rivers State Governor had on May 5, 2020, during his meeting with the traditional rulers, charged government recognised traditional rulers to set up Task Force in their respective communities to enforce the closure of markets, hotels and beer parlours across the State.
Rivers State Government had in the Press release on June 2, through the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Paulinus Nsirim ordered that Oginiba Slaughter Market will no longer in existence for now.
Some people are saying that the demolition is not because of COVID-19 social guidelines, but because of the on-going road construction in the area.
The Government also warn that anybody who goes there for any form of business will face the full wrath of the law.
The Government also ordered that Oil Mill, Mbiama Markets be closed down.
