Fr. Francis Tete Commissioned Parish Priest Residential Building And Chapel On His Birthday.

The parish priest of the Church Of The Ascension Catholic Church, Eagle Island, Rev Fr. Francis Tete has completed and opened a parish priest residential building on his birthday.

Fr. Francis Tete marked his birthday in grand style with a parish priest residential building opening and also consecrated a new chapel in the parish.

Prior to Fr Francis Tete arrival to the parish last year, the parish lacks where a priest can reside and also have no Chapel where faithfuls can communicate with God privately.

The Parish Priest together with church faithful was able to complete such building within a year as a parish priest.

Church of the Ascension, Eagle Island was created from Seat of Wisdom Catholic Chaplaincy, Rivers State University, during Rev. Fr Bartholomew Uzoma time as chaplain.

Fr. Michael Akere and Fr. Simeon Nwosu also served the out-station before it was made a quasi parish.

Fr. Chimaobi Ohaji was the first parish priest of the Church of the Ascension, who took the church to the permanent site.

Fr. Francis Tete (from Khana) is now the current parish priest.

The Church of the Ascension’s Mass time on Sundays is 9am at Andoni Sandfield, Eagle Island, Port Harcourt.
